Guys and Girls help me understand my husband...?

My husband and i have been together 4 1/2 years total married for 3 1/2. Our marriage has not been without it's ups and downs. We recently in the last year entered into marriage counseling to help save our marrige. We have been attending counseling for about 6 months or so... Tonight my husband told me that sometimes he doesnt see why i stay with him. He says he thinks he treats me like crap and i deserve better. This puzzeled me, we have had rough spots in our marriage and he has done some things that were hurtful but he does not treat me crappy he's a very good husband. He works, (military) provides a home is nice to me, tells me he loves me, always wants with me ect.. and i don't feel like i'm treated bad. Now i do feel he has f*cked up sometimes and done dumb stuff that jeopardizes our marriage but he isn't a bad guy. He told me today at work he was just feelin a little blue and started thinkin about the last year and what all we've been thru and he just felt he treated me like crap, (which he did hurt me emotionally) but i am trying to forgive and we are trying to move on. His talk kind of upset me for a minute but we talked it out and he said he just feels bad for all he's put me thru and that he thinks i deserve better. How should i take this and what can i do to help him see that he's not a bad guy just a typical one who made some mistakes.. I forgive him and i want to stay married... Guys help me understand or girls who have been in this situation.. Thanks, please no spam or rudeness...
