Can you tell me what kind of birthmark this is?

If you really need to know the specific name for your birthmark, try doing some research on-line or in the library. Since you know what it looks like, search through pics until you see an example of yours. Or ask your doctor, or a dermatologist. Birthmarks CAN be categorized, but the only two I know of are Hermangiomas (sp might be off on that one!) and strawberry birthmarks, and they are both red and raised...hermangiomas grow then slowly disappear (or nearly), and yours does not fit that bill. So, since we don't have pics, it's really hard to guess based on a physical description. Good luck!!
